A very good day’s work

Today we cleared part of the site of brush from felled trees, in order to make more room for more grass cuttings / leaf mould from the other side of the park.

The clearing shifted several trees worth of brash, forming some of it as dead hedge, and laying up the rest for future use.

The compost/green manure will be used as mulch on the upper half of the slope, underlaid with cardboard and carpet, framed by logs. This will create a deep mulch, almost like a raised bed, which will rot down within a year or so to a great compost for planting.

Thanks very much to Patrick, Rachel, Jon, Paul, Sharif and the other regular volunteers!
