Yuletide celebrates the turning of the year, and for us that includes the Winter Solstice, Christmas and the New Year. It’s a great time of year to do some sorting out – both in one’s head and heart, and in the home.
Here are some ways to help you do some Christmas Recycling.
Christmas Tree: If your tree has roots, please plant it up to live and grow again. If it was cut at the base, please bring it along to the Orchard on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon in January and we will use it to make birdfeeders, wood cookies and firewood.
Candle Wax: Thick “church” candles often have wax at the base, long after the wick has burnt down. Bring any uncoloured and unscented wax along to the Orchard on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon in January, and we will use them to make natural firelighters.
When we have enough wood and wax, we will turn away further donations. Please don’t leave items at the gate, but give it to us in person. Thanks!
The upcycled products will be made in good cheer, in our work and play sessions during January. You are welcome to join us!
