We have a set of three outdoor workshops for the late Summer to offer you!
- Wednesday 22nd August, Outdoor Cooking with Rhiannon
- Saturday 25th August, Bench Making with David. There are more opportunities to do Bench Making with David, detailed here
- Thursday 30th August, Dreams and Dream Catchers with Liz
Each workshop runs from 10AM – 3PM in the Orchard. You will have the satisfaction of making an item from start to finish. So come and relax, get away from it all, and focus – all before the frenzy of September returns!
Workshops are open to adults and to children aged 7 and over (aged 12 and over for Bench Making) who are accompanied by an adult. Toilet facilities are nearby, except on Saturday. There is a cost of £30 per day with a £5 discount on multiple bookings. All bookings must be paid for in advance, by contacting Liz
OUTDOOR COOKING: You will learn to responsibly build and tend a campfire, create a mezze of dishes by baking, grilling, steaming and frying, over a campfire – served with freshly baked bread.
BENCH-MAKING: Using wood felled in the park, you will split and dress logs, shave branches into bench legs and fit them into the log. If time, there is scope for decorative carving and finishing. Some of this work requires strength, so the lower age limit is 12 years old.
DREAMS AND DREAM CATCHERS: Using natural materials mostly from the park, you will design and make a dream catcher. You may also bring favourite objects from home to weave in if you wish. We will consider some of the ancient symbols used in dreams and have a chance to share some of our own dreams and wishes for the future. This workshop could be ideal for people launching into a new phase of life in September or soon after.
