Wider Purpose Survey no. 1 – facilities & sessions

We’ve been asking our mailing list subscribers the occasional activity and project development question – and are now broadening that to the wider community.

Thanks for coming to answer our survey. Please copy these questions into an email and send your replies to hoccic@gmail.com

These questions are about our needs for facilities, and what addional activies we should focus on.

1. Do we need a building?
If so, what should it enable us to do?

2. What do you think it should contain? Please choose/ comment on as many as you like.
• A boot room
• Toilets
• Community kitchen
• Adaptable learning spaces / meeting rooms

3. How important is it that the building functions as eco-friendly, with a low-impact infrastructure? Please note, there is no access to mains electricity, gas service or fresh water at present.
For example, should we insist on …
• Compost toilets
• Harvesting rainwater and filtering it
• Solar voltaics to run electrical items such as indoor lighting and a laptop.

4. Should we offer more outdoor education opportunities?
If so, to which groups? Please choose NO MORE THAN TWO.
• Young families (as we do now)
• Older children and young people (out of school , but not with parents)
• Primary School groups during school time
• Secondary school groups during school time
• Special school groups during school time
• Vulnerable adults
• Community courses such as fruit tree care (grafting and pruning)

5. We would always aim to charge an affordable amount per session. Should any of these groups be offered free places, and therefore financed through some other means? Please choose NO MORE THAN TWO.
• Young families
• Older children and young people
• Primary School groups during school time
• Secondary school groups during school time
• Special school groups during school time
• Vulnerable adults
• Individuals in the community

THANKS!
